Framing Embroidery

To look well in a frame, embroidery had to be well washed and pressed, and extra yarn pieces have to be removed from the back of embroidery so that they do not show through. Embroidery is stretched and fastened to the frame with the help of paper scotch and/or staples if necessary. Thus, it is always possible to remove embroidery without damage. For good stretching 5 cm on each end of the canvas are needed.

There are lots of ways how to frame embroidery. For example, we often use single, double and even triple mats. This gives embroidery additional background which softens the border between canvas and baguette. Material and color of baguette depends on size of embroidery and pattern.
